Help Me Mr. UPS Man!

You are not going to believe what I did yesterday, but then again considering it is me I guess you would.

Yesterday leaving work I was in a mad rush to make it to the UPS drop box before the driver got there to do the pick-up. I made it to the drop box with 15 minutes to spare. I had the packages in my hands and my cell phone too. In the time it took my brain to catch up with my hands I had not only put the packages in the drop box but my phone too.

I had to wait there for 15 minutes for the UPS guy to show up to get my phone out. I was relieved to find out from him that this was not the first time someone had dropped something inadvertently in the box. He said one guy had accidently dropped his keys in there. I thanked the man in brown and was on my way I had one missed call and so I had to call them back and explain why I did not answer the phone. He informed me that was the best excuse he has heard for not answering his call; I think he thinks that I made it up.

Have you ever dropped your cell phone someplace weird?

  1. I somehow lost my phone while moving one time. I'm pretty sure it ended up in the dumpster, but I never did find it.

I'm guessing the UPS guy wasn't hot. What a bummer.

  2. I once dove into a pool with my cell in my pocket. It sucked really bad cause it was pre-paid so i needed to buy a new one out of my own pocket..

  4. Nowhere weird. Just the middle of the street in our town, where luckily a couple of tourists picked up and called my mom!

And then when I dropped it in a parking lot after a high school football game I was covering for a newspaper. Again, didn't get run over and someone found out, gave it to principal, who gave it to me at next school board meeting.

  5. UnfinishedRambler ~ LOL sounds like you would not be able to get rid of that phone even if you wanted too.

  7. I've held onto my cell phone, but my husband has lost at least three while throwing fishing nets into the water. He found one the next day and was actually surprised that it didn't work any more.

  8. ...i slipped setting up my pool this year. 200$ down the tube. Only time i've ever accidentally done something to my lifeline. all the other times were out of anger.

but, at the post office once i purchased stamps, began talking to someone i knew, and drove 4 blocks away before I realized i had put the stamps in the out of town box.
